The Sacral Chakra- Svadhisthana


This chakra is located at your sacrum and the corresponding side of your abdomen.  It is also associated with your genitals, hips and lower back.  This relates to emotional feelings and sexual development.  

Signs of imbalance: Chronic lower back pain, sciatica, ob/gyn issues and urinary problems. Intimacy and emotional insecurities.  Feelings of guilt, loss of self control, fear of being controlled, rape, impotence, fear of betrayal and/or abandonment and financial loss.  

Benefits of keeping your sacral chakra strong and balanced: The ability to believe in yourself and your dreams.  Financial stability.  The stamina to survive and to protect yourself.  The courage to take risks confidently with a level head.  The strength to deal with failure and move forward confidently towards your dreams.  Positive development of reproductive organs.  

Mental exercises to strengthen Svadhisthana Chakra:  Practice your sacred truth and honor others.   Allow yourself to have a beginners mind, non-judgment, acceptance, patience and trust the process.

MUDRA: Dhyani Mudra- Hands on lap with palms facing up; left hand underneath.  Tips of thumbs gently touching.

MANTRA: "I Feel" 

BREATH: Alternating nostril breath.  

BANDHA: Mula Bandha.  




CRYSTALS: Amber, Moonstone, Carnelian, Tourmaline, Red Garnet, Red and Brown Adventurine.  

SCENTS: Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Orange, Tangerine, Bergamot, Neroli, Jasmine, Rosewood, Clary Sage, Grapefruit and Geranium.
